Your Trusted Stem Cell Provider Network

We currently offer the latest in cord tissue-derived, mesenchymal stem cell therapy, which can be deployed systemically via IV, or injected locally to target specific sites, depending on patient needs.
Stem cells have been used extensively for many proven indications like leukemias or genetic disorders like thalassaemia. There is a lot of evidence for stem cell therapy in blood disorders.
The stem cell is a potent cell capable of self-renewal and also differentiating into many different types of tissues. Due to its potential, stem cell therapy has also been explored into newer indications as shown below: Diabetes Mellitus: As of June 2020, more than 5000 studies have been published on PubMed.gov on stem cell therapy and diabetes mellitus. More than 200 studies have been launched to investigate the benefits of stem cell therapy and diabetes mellitus. You can review the status of these trials on clinicaltrials.gov.Knee Osteoarthritis: As of June 2020, more than 100 studies have been lau…

Stem Cell Therapy for Kidney Failure in Malaysia (Updated September 2020)

Image
Stem cell therapy for kidney failure or Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Malaysia is an ongoing topic of research and is considered experimental by the medical community. Patients can find fee-for-service clinics that advertise stem cell therapy for kidney failure, but most of these clinics promote their own approach, which creates a lot of confusion among patients about how to compare their treatment options. There are more than 650 published studies related to the use of stem cells and kidney disease and more than 300 published studies related to stem cells and kidney failure.Several clinical trials have confirmed the safety and tolerability of stem cells, and in particular of MSC-based therapies (Mesenchymal Stem Cell), in patients with renal diseases and kidney transplants (Int J of Mol Sci. 2019).

This year alone (2020), there are more than 80 publications published on "stem cell and kidney disease" on the National Library of Medicine (PubMed). Clinical trials have been p…

Stem Cell Cartilage Regeneration Therapy for Osteoarthritis Damage of Knees in Malaysia 2020

Image
Stem Cell Cartilage Regeneration therapy is one of the latest and most promising treatments for osteoarthritis damage in knee. Osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease. This is the most common type of arthritis (inflammation of joint). Osteoarthritis is used to describe a group of mechanical abnormalities involving degradation of joints, including articular cartilage and sub-chondral bone. It occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of the bones wears down over time. It can damage any joint in your body, however the most common parts are knees, hands, hips and spine.

Originally, surgery used to be the only effective treatment for osteoarthritis damage in knees, which has a long recovery phase. Stem cell therapy, is a promising non-surgical option for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knees.

What are Stem Cells?

Stem cells can be viewed as master cells that can give rise to all types of cells in the body. Generally, stem cells are c…

Malaysian Study indicates That Wharton's Jelly derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells have shown promise in treating a variety of diseases clinically

Image
A Malaysian mesenchymal stem cell review study, "Characteristics and clinical applications of Wharton’s jelly-derived mesenchymal stromal cells" was led by Dr LL Liau from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, Jalan Yaacob Latif, 56000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Curr Res Transl Med. 2020).

 According to the study's conclusion:
WJ-MSCs (Wharton Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells) have many advantages compared to MSCs (mesenchymal stem cells) from adult tissues. The discrepancies in the WJ-MSC characteristics reported in the above studies might have arisen from differences in cell isolation site and technique and cell culture procedure. Even though WJ-MSCs are safe and efficacious for treating certain diseases, most of the clinical studies/trials reported thus far do not provide sufficient evidence to support its routine use in the clinic.

What are Mesenchymal Stem Cells?

Stem Cell Therapy might help Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injury and Autism, according to Science

Image
Stem cells have been used extensively for many proven indications like leukemias or genetic disorders like thalassaemia. Bone marrow haematopoietic stem cell (HSCs) transplants have more than 35 years of patient applications in blood diseases and cancer.

Due to its potential, stem cell therapy has also been repurposed into newer indications such as neurological disorders. A key issue in the treatment of neurologic diseases is that injurious processes are often irreversible because nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are unable to spontaneously regenerate. However, neural plasticity has been observed experimentally in both global and focal brain ischaemia in animal models (Neurol India. 2009). Whether neurogenesis increases in response to brain and neural lesions or stem cells can be used for transplantation are the potential questions to be answered.

Can Stem Cell Therapy Help against COVID-19? (Updated)

Image
The number of confirmed cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) reported to WHO continues to rise worldwide. Although WHO has launched a global megatrial to test 4 most promising treatments, there is currently no specific proven anti-viral treatment exists. Although there are some published studies for various promising treatments from antivirals, anti-malarial to anti-oxidants, the studies are small and yet to be confirmed. The mainstay of clinical management is largely symptomatic treatment, with organ support in intensive care for seriously ill patients.

WHO and other global public health bodies have mainly focused on preventing transmission, infection control measures, and screening of travellers. The development of vaccines has received immediate funding; however, as with SARS-CoV and MERSCoV, support for developing treatments for 2019-nCoV that reduce mortality has not been forthcoming. All three coronaviruses induce excessive non-effective host immune responses that are…

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Malaysia and Stem Cell Therapy

Image
The results of 2 clinical studies, published in The Journals of Gerontology, showed how a type of adult stem cell called mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) could reverse the effects of aging.

The first trial involved 15 frail patients, each received single MSC infusion of stem cells collected from adult bone marrow donors aged between 20 and 45 years old. The patients exhibited improved overall quality of life and fitness, as well as diminished tumor necrosis factor levels. The second trial was a double-blind, randomized study involving a placebo group. Aside from noting no adverse effects, the research team found the improvements to be “remarkable.”

What is a Mesenchymal Stem Cell?

There are mainly two types of naturally occuring stem cells found in a human body, Hematopoietic Stem Cells and Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). Hematopoietic stem cells are found in cord blood, bone marrow and peripheral blood. MSCs are found in Wharton's jelly (refer to image below), bone marrow, fat tissue …
